Print project items

 


This topic explains how to print project items from your NVivo project. NVivo for Mac does not support printing for all types of project items, however you can export a range of items to a file which you can then print—for more information see Export project items.

Understand what you can print

You can print the following project items:

  • Sources (including documents, PDFs, Externals and memos)

  • Nodes

  • Cases

  • Maps

  • Charts and diagrams

You can also print lists displayed in List View or Detail View, for example:

  • A list of sources in List View

  • The members of a set displayed in List View

  • Query results displayed in Detail View

Print a project item

  1. Click on the item in Detail View or List View.

  2. Choose File > Print.

Keyboard Shortcut To display the Print Options dialog box, press ⌘+P.

  1. Select the required print options.

  2. (Optional) Click Detailed Preview to view a representation of your data and the number of pages in your printed output.

  3. Click OK.

NOTE

When you print a source, node or case from Detail View and:

Print a node, case or source showing highlighting or coding stripes

  1. Open the item in Detail View.

  2. Display coding stripes and turn on highlighting.

  3. Choose File > Print.

Keyboard Shortcut To display the Print Options dialog box, press ⌘+P.

  1. Select the required print options.

  2. (Optional) Click Detailed Preview to view a representation of your data and the number of pages in your printed output.

  3. Click OK.

Print a list

  1. Click in the list you want to print, either in List View or in Detail View.  

  2. Choose File > Print List.
